Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, the 12th edition of the International Emergency & Catastrophe Management Conference & Exhibition (IECM 2017) along with the 2nd edition of Dubai International Ambulance Conference (DIAC) kicked off today at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre with the participation of a number of local and international figures in the field of emergency and catastrophe management.
The International Emergency & Catastrophe Management Conference & Exhibition contributes towards the capacity building of the responders during an emergency. The exhibition showcases the latest innovations in the field of emergency medical services & equipment, ambulance services, emergency service vehicles, emergency medicines, and search & rescue equipment.
H.E. Khalifa Hassan Al Darrai Executive Director, DCAS, said: “The current edition of the conference is expected to have double the number of attendees, due to its local and global popularity. The current edition has more than 40 speakers, experts, and specialists in the field of pre-hospital emergency medicine coming from more than 30 countries.”
“In our conference, we shed more lights on the latest medical and technological findings in the emergency field, to further develop the capabilities of paramedics during emergencies and to secure the community from dangers and crisis.” He added

We have improved our communication channels with all the categories of our patients, through the design and implementation of well-thought projects that reflect positively on the quality of the services we provide to patients and the injured. “The conference scientific programme covers a wide spectrum of critical topics, mainly the scope of ambulance services, international & local best-practices in licensing, medical certification, organizing ambulance services in the GCC, and research, development, and innovation in providing better ambulance services.” He Concluded
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of IECM and DIAC: “The total space of the IECM exhibition this year reached 5,400 sqm which shows a 20% increase compared to the previous edition. The exhibition also hosts more than 72 company form 42 countries, and the DIAC and IECM conferences are expected to attract more than 5,000 participants and visitors.”
Dr. Al Madani also stressed on the vital benefits that the participants working in this field will gain after attending the conference, as it will help them in learning new and innovative techniques on how to better assist patients especially before they reach the hospital.
